ECON calls to use ASYCUDA System

Kathmandu:

In a fresh bid to make aware exporters about ASYCUDA system in the Tribhuwan International Airport, Export Council of Nepal organized an awareness programs at Hotel Marsyangdi. Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce and Supply formally inaugurated the programs lighting the lamp.
Welcoming the guests and the participants of the programs, Mr Naresh Das, president of ECON shed light of the programs and asked all the exporters to use ASYCUDA system from the TIA custom as the ECON has managed counter at the TIA. He hoped that the facility provided by the council would give benefit to the members.
Mr. Pushkarman Shakya, president of Federation of Handicraft Association (FHAN) asked the government to ease the export procedures and implement the commitments to enhance export trade of the country. Highlighting the importance of exports, he requested the government body to come to one place for facilitating exports. Likewise, Shiva Narayan Joshi, president of TIA Custom Agents Association shed light on the topic of ASYCUDA system adopted by the custom department.
Mr. Dilip Aryal, executive Director of Trade and Export Promotion centre expressed his commitment that he would extend necessary assistance to boost export as TEPC is formed to achieve that aim.
Assuring exporters to facilitate export from TIA custom point, Mr. Mukti Narayan Paudel, Chief custom Officer of TIA said that priority has been given to export even working in the government off day. "As a custom chief, I have been honestly working in boosting export as it has significant role in the national economy", he said requesting exporters to use ASYCUDA system. He also assured for the necessary assistance from TIA.
Addressing the program, chief guest secretary Purushottam Ojha said that exports has been in the priority of the government and the time has come for the quality production. "As the need of time we have to explore new market as well as new products', he said adding that Ministry of Commerce and Supply has included many things in the new Commerce act.
Mr Raju shrestha, Immediate Past President of ECON thanked all the participants and come in to one place to solve the problems. " We have to find out the way within us", he said adding that government should be given one voice to implement its commitments.
Government officials, media personnel and exporters were participated at the programs.
